Creating again...

I have not been able to do any art for the past couple of weeks because I had developed a problem with one of my eyes and the drops I had to use gave me double vision. I am almost back to normal now but I couldn't wait any longer to get my hands dirty, lol. Today I did an art journal page for the Book of Days course. I was not inspired by the prompt so I chose to do a collage page.

I started by gluing crumpled tissue paper to my pages. When it dried I gave it a coat of golden fluid acrylics using white, aqua and blue. Just mixing the colours together on the page. I then used some watery Moon Shadow Ink over the whole page, letting it pool in areas. The Moon Shadow ink is walnut stain with mica powders added. The one I used had red mica in it. When it was dry I used a stencil and a baby wipe to remove the ink in certain ares so the blue background could be seen. Then I used the stencil and outlined the pattern with a copper ink pen.

Sorry the photo has quite a bit of glare but you get the idea. I only used the stencil on the right page. The left page is where the ink pooled. I then stuck on some collage images using white glue. I already had them in my stash from years ago (a decoupage project). I stamped the quote on the page using Stazon permanent ink but it didn't stand out enough so I outlined it with a white gel pen. I like the background so I decided not to add anything else to the page. I don't mind a little clear space in my artworks.

    1. Thanks Trish. Sometimes I don't want to cover up the background at all but that would leave a lot of empty pages in my journals, lol.
